Southern Charm- 11x14” on Linen
You may have noticed right away that this isn’t my typical palette, with the background being a mixture of Turquoise and Viridian (blue-green). There is also a little bit of that hue in the shadows of the magnolia blooms to increase the color harmony for the piece. I haven’t painted magnolia blossoms before but it brings back fond memories of a great aunt’s house in Hot Springs. If you grew up in the south, I hope it also stirs some pleasant memories for you as well.
