Poetry In Pink- 16”x20” Oil on Linen Panel
In traditional impressionist paintings, the masters would often really blow out the lights putting most of the color in the shadows. In this piece, I largely took that approach, which tends to make the sections where the sun appears to be hitting to look that much more bright. This composition also includes a strong diagonal to help give the piece more of a classical feel. If you have a favorite reading room or know of someone who loves reading, this work may just fit the bill.
