Innocence Illuminated- 24x18 Oil on Gallery-wrapped Canvas
This is another piece from my “nostalgia” series. If you were like me growing up, we spent more time outside than in. Catching fireflies during the summer nights was always a blast, or maybe you called them lightning bugs. Although I couldn’t capture it in a painting, I also loved the sound of whippoorwills, crickets and frogs during these same summer nights. I had a great time with this piece depicting the bug’s glow on the girl and surrounding grass. I hope that all viewers of this piece are transported back in time to more innocent times. We can’t actually go back, of course, but we can remember those great times of our youth.
