In this completely original piece, “Evening Dance”, you can hopefully see a very strong resemblance to Edgar Degas’ work. I greatly admire Degas, who is considered one of the greatest impressionist masters, and I’ve worked to incorporate his techniques into several of my pieces. Blue and Orange are complementary colors, of course, so the approach here was to make the foreground ballerina’s skirt the star of the show through the use of orange’ish pinks. Above all, I trust that the viewer gets a real sense of peace and serenity from this piece.
