The overall style of this piece would be considered tonalism, which is a technique that enhances the sense of moodiness. As such, there is not a wide range of hues in this piece so those yellows and oranges in the fire are really accented. In creating this piece, I was aiming for something that would look right at home in a man cave or peaceful reading room.
