Painting figures with a narrative are especially rewarding and I really enjoyed working on this piece. I like the way the tree, wall and flowers cradle the lady as the primary focal point. I took special care to keep the buildings in the background very light to help push them further back. If you have been to Europe, or have aspirations of getting there some day, this would be a perfect piece to keep those memories (or dreams) alive.
