This is the fourth piece I’ve created with purple irises as the subject and I have to say that they are a real treat to paint. The way the top and bottom petals curve seems to be a delicate dance, of sorts. On the color palette, both the purple and the green mixtures include the same pigment, Ultramarine Blue, which gives the piece a peaceful overall harmony.
